I grew up in a non-Christian home where love was based on performance and acceptability in society. My parents loved me, but didn't know how to express it. I always thought the abuse I suffered was because of my strong will, which I believed made me "bad." I was different from the rest of the family (the "black sheep"), and they did not know what to do with me. It has taken me years to try to convince myself that God loves me just as I am. It seemed to be a constant battle with my mind. Through the Live Victoriously Seminar, God helped me to see that my identity comes from Who I am identified with spiritually. It is a "done deal!" I no longer have to struggle with the "bad person" I mistakenly thought I was. I knew that Christ died for my sin, but I still tried to get rid of the "badness". No more! God has already done it! This is so freeing! I read the syllabus almost daily to begin to 'retrain' my thinking. I cannot tell you what a difference it has made in my outlook on myself and who God made me to be. I read Colossians 2 and 3 and Galatians 2:20 with new eyes and a believing heart. I am thankful for your ministry and for the way God is using you to change lives.
